Steps to Fundraising Success! 

Step One - Design Your Fundraiser

The first thing you will want to do is to request Fundraising Success Packet from me. All you have to do is fill out the form here. This is such a flexible fundraiser. You have complete control over what type of products you sell and what scents you will offer. You can even set the pricing on your products to fit the market in your area.

Step Two - Get your participants INFORMED, EXCITED and READY

You should hold a meeting to discuss the goals and details of your organization's fundraiser. Go ahead and set individual and group goals so that everyone has a specific goal to reach. Setting goals is an excellent way to build team spirit and commrade.

I will provide each of your participants with a full color order form for all the products that you choose to sell, a fragrance list describing each fragrance your group is selling and an information sheet with details about what sets these candles and products apart from the rest!

Step 3 - Take Orders and Collect Payments

Participants will take orders for a designated period of time. Customers are requested to pay when placing their order. Checks should be made payable to your organization.

Step 4 - Submit Orders and Payment

Participants should turn in orders and all payments to the fundraising coordinator within your group. The orders are tallied and the master order form (provided) is turned in to me with a check for the order total.

Your PROFITS are yours IMMEDIATELY - no waiting on us to cut you a check. The money is in your account at the end of your fundraiser so that you can start using it as needed.

Step 5 - Deliver Candles

Orders are delivered within 15 business days of submitting the order form and payment to me. Orders are shipped via UPS directly to you organization. If you are in my local area, I will personally deliver your products to you.

Tips for Organizing and Running A Successful Fundraiser 

Set a goal. You should have a goal for the entire organization and a goal for each participant. Make sure all the participants understand why you are holding the fundraiser and that by working together, the group can meet their goal.

Set a deadline. I usually suggest that you run a fundraiser for two weeks (from a Thursday to a Thursday) which would include two weekends. Having a specific deadline and limiting the length will keep your group focused and motivated.

Hold a "kick-off" meeting. At this meeting you will be able to let the group know the goal of the fundraiser, along with the deadline and all the specifics about the products and the fundraiser.

Get everyone involved and enthusiastic about the fundraiser. Let them know that this is for THEIR group!

Follow up with your group. Update them on the progress of the fundraiser.

Advertise your fundraiser.

Tips for the Fundraiser Participants 

Make a list of everyone you know (friends, neighbors, relatives, business associates).

Ask businesses if they would allow your group to set up a fundraising table for your group beside their entrance. Always get permission before doing this.

Remember to think safety first! Never let children sell "door-to-door" in unfamiliar neighborhoods. See our other fundraising safety tips.

When you approach someone, say your name and the purpose of the fundraiser. Let your potential customer know the goals and reason for the fundraiser. Speak clearly and confidently. Smile and always say thank you.

For example, I would say "Hi, My name is Yvette Mason. My organization is raising money for new equipment. Your purchase would really help us reach our goal. Would you be interested in looking at our sales brochure? Thank you so much!"

Go out and sell for approximately 2 weeks, collecting the money as you sell. Have checks written to your school, group or organization.
